Explaining UX to My Grandma

Whenever someone asks me, "What is UX Design?" after learning I'm a UX Designer, I hesitate.

The conversation often gets tangled in jargon: user interface, user flow, accessibility, digital applications... Honestly, explaining these terms to someone unfamiliar with the tech world is challenging for me.

Returning to the Essence

Believing ChatGPT might do a better job explaining UX Design, I asked it to introduce UX to my grandma. Here's the answer:

UX Design is like making things easy and fun to use for people, like when you use your phone or computer. It's about making sure things work well and are not confusing for you.

The answer is simple, and to the point. It also reminds me, cutting through the clutter of all those complex tech jargons in my head, the simple idea of User Experience:

"Make things easy and fun to use for people."

That's it.
